PORTLAND, Ore. – A single-family residence in the Hosford-Abernethy neighborhood of Southeast Portland is proposed to be demolished and replaced by two new structures.
The one-story home with an attic, located at 1915 SE 12th Ave., was built in 1885. Totaling 1,718 square feet in size, it is built on a 5,000-square-foot lot.
On March 27 the Bureau of Development Services received an early assistance application for new development on the lot. The application explains that the 130-year-old home would be demolished to make way for two new three-story duplexes on the property, for a total of four new residential units.
An early assistance application is generally the first step in new development. Demolition permits have not yet been applied for.
City and county records list the owner as the Dov G. Sagiv Trust, which assumed ownership in April 2014 after a transfer with no dollar amount.
The applicant for the redevelopment is Raphael Goodblatt of Ahha Architect Inc., registered in Southeast Portland.
This is the oldest still-standing house that the Portland Chronicle has reported on.
