PORTLAND, Ore. – A vacant building that was formerly home to a 24-hour coffee shop will be demolished in Southeast Portland.
Located at 1223 and 1233 SE Powell Blvd., the single-story building totals 2,400 square feet. It is surrounded by an industrial warehouse building.
The 1911 building was most recently home to Southeast Grind coffee house, which closed its doors in October 2019. Before that, the space was home to Fireside Coffee Lodge. In addition to the coffee shop section of the building, a web design company was located in a separate unit.
Since Southeast Grind closed in 2019, the building has sat vacant.
The building has been owned by construction company Stacy & Witbeck since 2011, when it sold for $560,000. The construction company owns all other properties on the block. Among other projects, Stacy & Witbeck completed the recent pedestrian overpass crossing the light rail and train tracks just adjacent to this property.
There have been no construction permits filed for the property.
