- 1919 Richmond Home Headed for Demolition
- ‘Morrison Development’ Razes 96-Year-Old Richmond Home
PORTLAND, Ore. – A 96-year-old house in the Richmond neighborhood of Southeast Portland will be demolished to be replaced by a new single-family house.
The one-story 1919 house, located at 3118 SE Woodward St. on a 5,000-square-foot lot, totals 819 square feet.
On Jan. 13 the house sold from an individual homeowner to Wilde Properties Inc. for $150,000. Wilde Properties Inc. is registered to Mark and Erika Wilde. Slightly more than a month later on Feb. 17 the property sold again, this time to Morrison Development Group LLC for $325,000, more than double the price Wilde Properties Inc. had paid for it.
On April 2 the city received an application for demolition of the 96-year-old home. It was not subject to the 35-day demolition delay due to the developer’s plan to replace the house with a single new residence. This exemption, widely utilized by developers across the city, will no longer be offered one week from today.
Morrison Development Group LLC plans to build a two-story single-family residence with an attached garage. The applicant on the permit is Mike Coyle of Faster Permits and the listed contractor is Morrison Built Inc. That permit is still under review.
A sign posted in front of the house lists the incoming new construction as a 3,082-square-foot house with a “sophisticated design.” The sign has been partially torn down.
Morrison Development Group LLC is registered to Joel Frederick Morrison. Roughly 20 blocks east of this development Morrison is redeveloping a large portion of a dead-end street on Southeast Brooklyn Street.
