A house purchased for $495,000 in the Eastmoreland neighborhood will soon be demolished and replaced by new construction.
The English-style house, built in 1931, was purchased in June by a development firm. In August the developer applied for a demolition permit. It has been “approved to issue.”
The demolition permit calls for the basement excavation to be reused for a new house to be built on the lot.
On October 17, the city received the developer’s plans for new construction. It will be a single-family residence, 2 stories with a basement and attached garage.
The development company behind this property is Level 3 Homes & Design LLC. Its members are Jeremy Killian, Jeffrey S. Bleecker, Lance Evic, and Ryan Donato. The business license shows Bleecker and Evic registered with addresses in Tucson, Arizona.
Killian has been involved in controversial real-estate dealings in the past.
The Eastmoreland Neighborhood Association has come out against the demolition. As yet, the house is partially gutted. Neighbors report it is being used for fire department drills, until it is fully demolished. Nearly every yard along SE Reed College Pl. displays a sign protesting the demolition.
