PORTLAND, Ore. – Construction is underway on a four-story 23-unit apartment complex in the Goose Hollow neighborhood.
The property sold last January. At the time a 130-year-old home was on the lot. Prior to demolishing the historic house, the new owner told The Oregonian that he was delaying the demolition in an effort “to be the good developer.”
The house was demolished in early 2014. A construction permit was filed in June, and approved in October.
The new construction will feature 23 residential units and one retail space on the ground floor. There will be no onsite automobile parking provided.
The owner of the property is developer Mark Madden of WDC Properties. Madden has developed numerous properties in Portland. Eko-Haus Apartments manages many of Madden’s residential developments, including Glee, Hoyt, King, Martin, Miss, Sippi and Sherm.
The applicant on the development is architect Steve Fosler of Fosler Portland Architecture LLC. Fosler has designed numerous residential buildings in Portland. The architecture firm’s website includes plans for the Goose Hollow development.
Rich Grimes of Progress Construction LLC is the contractor on the project. Progress Construction, Fosler Portland Architecture and WDC Properties have collaborated on other projects including Eko-Haus’s Sippi Apartments.
