PORTLAND, Ore. – A formerly-vacant lot in the Buckman neighborhood is the site of two new units of attached housing in a three-story building.
The property, covered by the Portland Chronicle in November, sold in April for $125,000. It was being used as a parking lot prior to the new development. It is located at 151 SE 13th Ave., between Southeast Ankeny and Ash streets.
City data indicates that trees were removed from the property when the parking lot was excavated.
The Bureau of Development Services approved the proposal to partition the 2,500-square-foot lot into two parcels in December. The construction permits had already been approved and issued prior to that and the foundation had been laid in November, suggesting that the department’s request for public comments in early December was a formality with no bearing on the project moving forward.
The property is owned by John and Irene Lisac of Clackamas. The lot partition application lists Monty Hurley of AKS Engineering & Forestry LLC, located in Tualatin, as a representative.
This development is located one block south of the upcoming Urban Development Group apartment building that will see the demolition of Old Wives’ Tales.
