PORTLAND, Ore. – A 90-year-old house in the Beaumont-Wilshire neighborhood is experiencing major redevelopment.
The 1924 one-story home located at 4045 NE Stanton sold in August for $399,000. It was 1,333 square feet on a 5,000 square foot lot.
In September the city received an application for an addition to the house. The permit calls for the former attic to be removed, for a new second story to be built “over existing footprint,” for a new two story addition to the front and rear of the dwelling, for two new porches to the front and back of the house, and two second-floor bathrooms.
The remodel did not require a demolition permit.
The property is owned by John and Jennifer Reilly of Reilly Signature Homes LLC, which also serves as the applicant and contractor on the new construction.
The Stanton construction is a standard project by this development company. Reilly Signature Homes LLC has done work at a number of other sites in northeast Portland, and generally installs a second floor on a one-story home.
