“Urban Infill Pocket Community” Comes to Buckman: Ankeny Street Part Three

Story by Portland Chronicle staff

This is the third in a series profiling development on SE Ankeny St. This street is currently in the midst of massive redevelopment. Read part one and part two.

A major portion of the 2400-2600 block of SE Ankeny St. is currently experiencing major redevelopment, and will result in a large increase in density.

A parcel of land at 2505 SE Ankeny was purchased in December 2010. The sale price was $560,632. Early the following year the warehouse located on the property was demolished. The building had previously been home to Rose City Sound and Lighting.

The developers call the project Ankeny Row. Its website bills the development as “an urban infill ‘pocket’ community.” The property will feature “six craftsman-style townhomes, a shared common building and a garden and courtyard,” says the website.
